Well! I won!

Greetings art enthusiasts. I am delighted to share with you that I won the Culzean in Colour Competition with my painting of the Swan Pond.

The judges were drawn to my painting because it was painted in situ , the sense of space I was able to create and the vibrant colours. The idea was to create a painting in a day based on a subject of our choice within the beautiful grounds of Culzean Castle and my painting allowed me to claim the grand prize of a £75 hamper, afternoon tea for two and a private tour of the captivating castle. My painting is also being framed and will be on display at the castle gallery for two weeks.

The Swan Pond, a true gem nestled in the picturesque Culzean estate became the focal point of my winning art work, its tranquil atmosphere and graceful swans created an irresistible place to try and capture. The colour of the area played a pivotal role in bringing my painting to life with the luscious shades of green being highlighted by a mixture of the sunshine and showers of the day.

To my delight , my name was the one called by the judges and it has provided a real boost to my artistic confidence and rewarded me with a wonderful prize that is set to be an unforgettable experience as I have never been inside the castle itself before.

The winning painting. ‘The Swan Pond at Culzean’. It will be available for sale on the website if it doesn’t find a new home when in the gallery.
